I posted a little more detail on EP, but I discovered the content export tool is missing like 20% of my content. Plus the format's really minimal. It's a quick-and-dirty tool that's better than nothing, but if you care about your content you'd better save the HTML pages using your browser.
Also, I see folks saying "I'll post a link to my EP story here"... Folks, I don't think EP is going to stay online for long after 4/21, if it even makes it that long. There is zero benefit to them continuing to host the site after locking people out, so your links will die. (If there was any benefit to keeping the site alive, they wouldn't be locking people out at all.)

Posting a link to EP, agreed everything is going to dissolve. This is why they offered the export tool, which I bypassed. While I was packing to move out: I took any and all information, stories, etc and copied them to an ordinary word document on pc. I now have everything as text, in the event I want to post it again, or read it myself. In the event EP does return, I believe all your stuff will be gone.

Yes, it might be better to copy and paste

I copied and saved all my stories in a folder on my computer. I can't bring myself to delete them on EP yet, it feels so final, like losing that online support group that got me through one of the most difficult transitions of my life. I will delete them, and my profile there, eventually, as I don't like not having access to/control over my stuff once the site is no longer operating.

I have started doing the copy and paste into a journal from the web page. It's a slow painful process. When I go back to double check, new things show up or things disappear.

FWIW, DC Probably will be online long enough for them to sell the meta-data to the highest bidder as many suckers as they can find. The online data will act as a "see before you buy" for the meta-data all neatly packaged. I deleted all my data more out of spite than anything else. One less nickel in their pocket. Of course that assumes that "deleted" actually means deleted and not just "hidden". Expect the number of messages hitting your spam folder to noticeably increase after the 21st.
