I am a criminal prosecutor & I carry a Glock 23 (.40 cal) on my hip every day. I wear a suit, so the jacket conceals it well. In casual clothes, I have a Glock 43 in a pocket holster. I have other handguns, but I have NEVER had a Glock jam on me. I have no experience with Glocks. Thanks. How do you carry with no safety?

The trigger pull is much heavier than a 1911, but a little less than a Smith & Wesson medium frame revolver. No one should ever put his/her finger on the trigger until the sights are lined up anyway. I would not recommend anyone carry one without a proper holster, but that is true of any firearm.

It's not like the gun is going to go off by itself or in your pocket, but my concern with a Glock is that if it ends up loose then there's nothing left to keep the trigger being pulled. (My worst-case scenario is, say, having it come loose in a chair and a child finding it before I do.) I suppose this could be mitigated with a holster that had a good thumb strap. They are excellent, simple, reliable service weapons - always at the ready. My preference when I open carry. I wish they'd make one with a single-stack magazine and a thumb safety for concealed carry.

Excuse my ignorance, but does the term - "open carry" - actually mean that you can openly carry your hand gun in your jurisdiction ? Like a cowboy style gunbelt and holster type set up if you want ?

Here is a very informative video about how to care for your Glock .... OK, that's pretty clever. ;-) A local outfit makes reloading gear, and their monthly "magazine" / catalog always has an attractive model. www.dillonprecision.com/articles.html
