Thank you. I need advice, believe me! OK... here is a tip: wear something low cut. All men: all they think about is sex! (Ooops. Wait... this *might* not actually be the right forum in which to make that claim.... hmmmm.....)

I agree! Learn as much as you can about the company and the position, and reference that you did the research.
Good lucky kitty cat! Go get that job!

Unless it's a sensitive issue, we want to know how your two interviews went. Judging by all the kind characteristics I've seen, I think you'll find you're surrounded by people who genuinely care.
News?

Good luck with your interviews. I know you'll do great!!! Sometimes things happen for a reason and are a blessing in disguise. Stay positive and nail it on Monday!! (Not that way! Damnit!) I hope you got good vibes from your interviews yesterday.

Mmmm.....
Well, I had 2 interviews yesterday. One by Skype and one by phone. They seemed to go well, but who knows? I suck at guessing things like that.
I was supposed to have an in-person interview today, but the person cancelled it, and that may be just as well. What they are really looking for is an entry-level e-learning developer. The kind of job I'm looking for is writing & editing, mid to senior level. So, probably not a good fit. I did think it was a little odd that she approached me in the first place. But maybe she is new to recruiting.
Today, I took the day off and went to the beach. What the hell? Why not? I had 2 interviews yesterday, and tomorrow I plan to get right back to work job hunting. It was chilly today; too cold to go in the water or even sit on the beach. But I had a good long walk.

Fingers and toes crossed that the right opportunity surfaces quickly! Jealous of your beach day. For 2 reasons: 1. No beaches anywhere near to where I life, and 2. Spring break. I can't quit the kids. ;-)

Update: one of the employers who phone-interviewed me on Monday has called me in for an in-person interview. That will happen on Friday.
I went to a job fair today, and the man I talked to seemed to like my background and skills. He encouraged me to apply for a job through the company's website.
And, I called the contact people at the 3 other leads I have.
So, at least things are happening.

One thing that you may want to consider is grant writing. Many towns police, fire, libraries, schools, and non-profit organizations can use a good grant writer. I am sure you can do that. Just an idea. We can meet up for coffee at the restaurant at the end of the universe.

Today's in-person interview felt like it went well. But, I have thought that before about interviews where I didn't get the job - so I will withhold judgment.
I'm still applying for other jobs, anyway. And waiting to hear back from the other place that phone-interviewed me.

Just an idea. That's actually a really creative suggestion. Many organizations are very dependent on grants for their survival - or at least, to thrive. Something I've come to appreciate as my career progressed - when you're at the mouth of the beast helping the money come in, they're a lot more generous with your pay. I could see a really good grant writer getting that treatment in the right organization. 1% would make for a nice bonus structure. Someone good and daring could offer to work on contingency - little or no fixed pay, but then a percentage of successful grants.

A friend got into a group called Hera Hub to gain connections. "It's a shared, flexible work and meeting place where entrepreneurial women can create and collaborate in a professional, productive and spa like environment." Maybe there is something similar in your area. www.HeraHubExpansion.com
