My last relationship was going through early stages of pre-menopause. The hot flashes, sweating in the bed, mood swings, missing periods, thinking it's over but it takes 18 months - I did the research became more knowledgeable, prepared, tried to be a very good, listening understanding, partner!- And how did that work out? Not trying to be an ass. But in talking with other males in the before time, I came to realize or at least feel that women do not much think men realy understand what menopause is all about. I was also understanding and I thought prepared for her physical and mental struggles. But in the end, nature gave me a series of head fakes and hip jukes and cancelled my love life. And in the end also the marriage. |

And in the end also the marriage. Not good. She was the one with her "fear of commitment" who would 'up and leave' once a year. 3rd time came and i learned my lesson. She also was...how do I say this politely....hmm... not computer literate at all,and uninformed about her own body and female menopause. The last time I spoke to her, months ago, she is extremely unhappy about everything! Who wants to be with someone like that? I'm thankful for the wonderful 3 years we had together, she was very happy most all the time, ( she admits that herself and is sorry for leaving me and how she treated me) or did a fabulous job of hiding it? |
