Thank you, friends. I just found out my mom is in post-op now. It is not ovarian or uterine, as they thought at first; it's her liver. She will need chemo. My brother and dad believe that it's better that it's the liver instead of ovarian or uterine - very low survival rate for ovarian. SK, I am so sorry. I hope you can find a way to spend as much time with her as you can, either virtually or in person, while she goes through this. Love and best wishes.

Shit @smartkat. That's rubbish. I'm so sorry.
Hopefully though the chemo will do its thing. There are so many successes these days... Unpleasant as the process is.

Update: my brother got his information wrong. It isn't liver cancer, it's peritoneal cancer. This might be important - from what I read in the Mayo Clinic website, peritoneal cancer may not be as bad as liver cancer.
