So the last 2 years have been filled up learning about my job and working like a mutha effer at it, and also at taking care of my family (unfortunately including my 3rd "son" aka the refuser. ) I worked a few days in Bavaria this week, with the final day off when we cycles 50k around the most beautiful lake and scenery my eyes have ever had the good fortune to see. The air was clean, I took so many big deep open breaths that it has awoken me again. Energised me. Empowered me. I got back Wednesday night and yesterday worked my ass off demonstrating my wares for some lovely potential clients, father and son dentists with the matriarch managing the practice. Got home to a shit hole of a house. I haven't posted this yet because it's tearing me apart inside but the man has, once again, decided that he shouldn't have to go to work in a job he doesn't like so has quit. No job to go to. It's summer holidays and the hours I spent trying to arrange childcare and begging for specific days off as I couldn't get care.... You can imagine. And now... He's home. 24/7. No income. No chance of affording any treats for the kids on holiday. Wasting his and our lives again for his selfishness. Typical. So I'm fighting back by taking my first steps back to empowering myself and getting physically and mentally strong again. The bike ride set me off. Last night my eldest son and I went running. Only a couple miles and it killed me but we did it. This morning I have reintroduces myself to my yoga mat. How I've missed her. And now I feel my invincibility returning. She will grow everyday I do something for me. And I'm committing to doing something for me every day. Not just masturbating ha ha. Of course that will still be featuring heavily in my routine or I'd go freaking nuts! So. That's me. Steps 1, 2 and 3 completed and to be continued daily. Hello invincibility make me strong again. Love to you all xxxxx

If this exercise regime helps you in "getting physically and mentally strong again" then I'm all for it. - You are going to have to be mentally strong to unload this parasite. - Meantime, the lawyer consult / exit strategy etc are matters that do not require a great deal of mental strength (but possibly more mental strength than you have at this instant) and are matters that you could attend to concurrent to your fitness regime. It's just information gathering at this point, committing you to precisely nothing. And, it will be very helpful information to have when you have attained your goals in respect to your physical and mental strength, and are ready to address the core problem. - Run. Bike. Yoga. Box. Stretch. Move. Yay for invincibility returning for you.

My brother needed to get out of his shitty marriage for years and years. Then he took up running, and he ran further and further until he was out of the house every night doing it. He ended up doing ultra marathons and got stronger and braver and then met somebody he really liked at his running club. Now he is married to her. He literally ran out of his marriage.
And this probably goes without saying but you need to kick his arse. Have you thought about cutting off his allowance? 'No job, no gear.' That might get his attention. (OK, it is not quite as good as, 'Get the fuck out of my house,' but it is a solid place to start.)

Pardon the preaching, but "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat." [2 Thess. 3:10]
You don't have to be religious to give St. Paul an "Amen" on that.

I have to say, I'm a fan of snorts and giggles.
I've heard it said that "women like a man who can make them laugh."
I like a woman who CAN laugh.
I think the Frigidaire lost her sense of humor with her sex drive.
She actually gets mad at me for laughing and smiling. (Which, of course makes me laugh and smile more at the absurdity of it.)
But as the immortal song of Led Zeppelin goes it's "Nobody's Fault but Mine."
(Little known fact -this song was originally done by "Blind Willie Johnson- Led Zeppelin's version is actually inspired by it)
(Also Willie WAS blind - or that nickname would have just been awkward- "Hi I'm 'Blind' Willie Johnson" -But you can see. - "I know, weird right?")

Um... I knew it. But then, I didn't know that Led Zeppelin covered it. By that token, I don't know any Led Zeppelin songs other than the start of Stairway To Heaven. I think.

I'm anticipating he'll have arranged some more when I get home shortly... You know, coz it's Friday 'n that! Yeah. Friday is great when you are working but it's just another day to him now. He's making the right noises and applying for a few shitty jobs but I honestly can't see him bringing any cash in anytime soon. My wage covers everything, with a little left over, but certainly not enough to keep him in the style to which he has accustomed himself. I'm dreading the end of the month! i swear I wish he'd just drop off the face of the earth. Impressed with your Bro! Sounds an interesting plan x

Bravo!
I think the exercise releases endorphin's in your brain that makes you happy! Who can say that is a bad thing? Keep putting in the effort working out, it will get easier and you will gain so much more mentally.
I started a boot camp style workout 6 months ago and I love the physical and mental improvements I feel.
Everyone quotes lyrics to songs so I will quote you a little played Pink Floyd song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond";
"Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond".
Shine on E!
