I just had to share this as a testament to my consistent (most recent) exercise regimen.
I can do something I've never done before. My knees are missing a lot of cartilage, so I have to be careful not to cripple myself, but yesterday I had the urge to try it just to see if I could actually do it, and I can.
I can do 7-ups the way my instructor does them. Jumping in the air on one leg on a step bench. I've always kept my foot grounded to keep it low impact, and I probably should keep it that way for the most part (given my knee problems) but I wanted to know if I could do it, and I can.
Another improvement is doing jumping jacks without feeling any change in breathing. Doing 20 used to get me breathing harder, now it feels like I'm just standing there. I did do 60 at one time, but again, I have to be careful with my knees.
If it wasn't for my knee problems, I'd be going all out with plyometrics – which I love – so I intersperse small jumps into low impact moves. I just have to be careful.
Another improvement is doing the "bear claw" move. One round saw me having to stop for a break before the second round, so I could get my breath back, now I do two rounds before I stop for a breather.
Exercise is awesome!
Gains can be made at any age!

I am very happy for you! Keep up the good work! Thank you. I'm 62, so any gains I make with exercise are really meaningful to me. I'm doing things I couldn't do 20-years ago.
