Thought I would start this for my favorite holiday songs. It's such an emotional time, and most Christmas music puts a gun to our heads and insists that we be happy. I prefer songs that speak to our feelings. Somehow, Canadians get this better than Americans - particularly Joni Mitchell. This is my all-time favorite Christmas song:

Ahhh, this song @obofla is much more my mood this season than the sticky sweet Christmas songs playing on all the stations right now. And a skating Snoopy did make me smile.
One of my favorites-

Ah, Snoopy! Back when I was a kid, Peanuts was all the rage (books, sweatshirts, cups, toys, etc.) And because of the Red Baron storylines, this was a hit during the Christmas '67 season. Still one of my favorites Christmas songs.

This is an old one from Jim Croce of "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown" fame. Very underrated Christmas song.

Obscure but brill by the totally wonderful Thea Gilmore. Very English.
She could have me, if she played her cards right.

And while I'm at it... her cover of Elvis Costello's St Stephen's Day Murders, which is probably more apposite for ILIASM. One of the verses is sung by Mark Radcliffe, a BBC Six Music presenter.

Going North of the Border again. Sarah McLachlan also does a great version of River and Song for a Winter's Night. This is all her:

My favorite acapella group is Take 6. I may not be too religious, but I love this Christian group:
