We are officially on for our ILIASM Get Together April 28-30! Five of us have booked cottages at Changing Tides Cottages in Madeira Beach, just a block away from the beach and two blocks from John's Pass Village. Here is a link to a YouTube video of the place: If you want to go but can't book the place, there are plenty of places nearby. This condo resort is right next door and very reasonable. Barefoot Beach Hotel is across the street on the beach. There are other cottages and bungalows for rent nearby and plenty of hotels in the area. |

I'm getting excited for this trip. I asked, yesterday, for the days off work. When I mentioned it to my mom, she wanted to know what 4 friends? (It was by FB PM, so easy enough to simply not clarify where I know these friends from) obobfla - this is selfish of me, but I'll say it anyway b/c this is a site I can be my true flawed self & not feel shame about it - I hope that you'll still make it despite the news of your W's diagnosis. |

I am almost positive I will be there. I've cleared it with my wife. After Friday's update, the strategy shifted from surgery to chemo. She will have chemo on Fridays, but I have arranged for a friend to take her that Friday. Should be able to leave work early as well or take a vacation day. Still debating whether to drive myself over or ride with you guys. My thinking for taking the car is to get you to AA meetings and carrying some fishing gear. Other than that, I would let bballgirl drive. |

I'm glad to hear you had already cleared it with her & that she will still get what she needs covered also.
I have to buy my airline ticket & figure I will get it done on Tuesday.
Really looking forward to meeting you all in person!

Tickets are bought! (Mine is) And pick up arranged (thanks, bballgirl!) I'm going to check our shuttle too (maybe instead of long term airport parking) I can't wait to pack my bikinis for this trip! I'll buy a suitcase (next week). I'm so ready to visit Florida for the first time ever! |

Copernicus, actually there may be room if you can swing it. We currently have two cottages rented. There is plenty of lodging in the area. Depending on how things go with my wife, I may not be able to go, which will free up one room. If I can go, I will. But a lot depends on my wife's health, which is not good right now.

An update on the upcoming ILIASM Get Together: This next weekend is the get together in St. Petersburg Florida. There will be four of us there, myself, GeekGoddess, smilin61, and bballgirl. The organizer, obobfla couldn't make it due to family obligations. We will be thinking of...and thanking....him profusely as we soak up the sun and swap our SM stories. Having met in person several EP/ILIASM people in the past, I know there is nothing as cathartic as sharing your story with others "who get it".
We will be taking plenty of pictures to share with everyone here, of course! I'm also going to post a link for a Skype video chat for Saturday so that anyone who'd like can join in for a bit. I'll be announcing a specific time (US East Coast time zone) so you can know when. Having come from a SM, I know it's very hard to get time to do something like this, but we would love the opportunity to see our fellow ILIASM people. To say hi and give a virtual hug.
We will be thinking of all of you (and probably trash-talking a few of you (I'm thinking of you wewbwb )....all in good fun, I'm sure..) while we are there. We'll be sitting in the shade, enjoying the companionship, and looking forward to the future big party on the ILIASM Island & Resort!!
