I'm going to be one of the nay Sayers. My h has had a beard for years. Sometimes neat. Sometimes scruffy. Sometimes he shaves it off for awhile.
No difference whatsoever in sex drive.
I like a beard when it gets to the softer stage. When it's just straight out sandpaper stubble that is a little ouchy

My personal favorite look is scruff. And I kind of like the scratchy feeling.... ;-D

"I've noticed lots of our resident males have beards. So my simple mind wonders: bearded man = more sex?"
In my experience no. I was barefaced until I got married and grew a beard soon after. The marriage went sexless and many years later, after I'd been trying and trying to find someone for sex outside the marriage I wondered if I would have the kind of amazing sexual luck I used to have before my marriage in my bare faced days if I shaved the beard. Didn't make any difference other than upsetting my kids who had only known me with a beard and demanded I grow it back.

It is funny to see people's reactions when they've only known you a specific way for a along time. I had remote co-workers who didn't recognize me when I shaved mine off. And newer friends who were equally surprised when I grew it back after several years. I had a similar experience at the auto parts store for a different reason... the woman behind the counter had gotten to know me over months as the t-shirt-wearing, scruffy, weekend mechanic who was rebuilding an old Chevy pickup. Then one day I stopped in on my way home from work, dressed up. "Mr. DC!!!" She had no idea I could clean up. ;-)

I could not go out with a man with a beard or mustache after reading a news article about what you find in beards...bacteria and viruses. *grimace* How to put this tactfully... when considering all the opportunities for exposure to bacteria during intimacy, a beard probably doesn't rank at the top. I recall the mouth is at the top of the list, but surprisingly few people die from kissing. This. Truth is that few folks die from any contamination. I'm fairly convinced excessive worry about contamination, germs, etc. contributes to a weak immune system.

Fiery You need to take it up with the scientists, they are the ones who conducted the study. If they say it's full of bacteria...even E. Coli was found..then I believe them.
