I have a windows 10 on a computer that I bought for my wife, but it ended up in my workshop, because there's a good internet connection over there.
So I got over there today, and the computer happily announced: "We have an update for you" "This will only take a few minutes" It was practically giving an excited wriggle like the dog when you get home after a few hours' absence. Smiling.
(as you probably know, one can no longer turn off updated for Win 10).
Ok, if this will take a few minutes, why don't I go and unload the car and take a shit, in preparation of what I know will happen next.
Computer restarts after updating itself.
Can't log on, no keyboard. Unplugs keyboard, plugs it in again, it works - hallelujah types in password ..... that was the easy part.
No internet connection. Oh. 1/2 an hour later after unsuccessfully trying to fix the botched and fubared network connection (which worked just dandy before the update), every MS tool for fixing broken network connections failed, I deleted the device and let it reinstall itself. Gosh, I had internet again. - - hosiannah
The screen resolution had been reset to something out of a fantasy book. It sure as hell looked odd and distorted.
All the desktop icons were nicely stacked along the left screen edge, not where I had left them.
Fixed, and fixed. That is, after I fixed the resolution, half the icons were half off the screen. What fun.
Thank you, Micro$oft for wasting a good hour of my afternoon. I see that you haven't learned all that much since the days of Windows ME.
Ye gods .....

I concur...Windows 10 sucks...I remember Windows 2000 or even 98m as being much more friendly. If you are a social butterfly then Windows 10 is the flat form for you with Skype, Facebook, Twitter and other sites for those with virtual lives instead of real ones.
