I went on my first camping trip in 50 years. It was a one night, rough camp in the desert with the hiking club to watch the meteor showers. We chose a camping area on the banks of a dead lake, staked out our camping spots and put up our tents. The ladies camp toilet was set up behind a bush. Everyone put out the food they brought on a table and we ate and explored our camp site. The evening was beautiful and warm. We saw two red rattle snakes and a tan one. Fearlessly, we all gathered around and took videos of them rattling. As darkness approached, we set up our lounge chairs and waited for the meteor showers. We talked and laughed and watched the shooting stars. It was spectacular. I can't remember ever feeling so much peace and happiness. I was with 10 people that I barely knew, surrounded by scorpions, snakes, huge ants and god knows what other critters, and I was happy. Happy. Truly happy. I whispered a thank you to God for showing me that true happiness is actually very simple.

What a wonderful story. A shared adventure in a natural setting can do that. The rattle snakes would have freaked me out, but the rest sounds awesome. Great pics.

I am so happy for your happiness! My sister-in-law and I call this our reset buttons. Hers is her family's ranch, and mine is the sea.
I also want to thank you for not posting the snake videos. I would've screamed and thrown my phone across the room.

I would've screamed and thrown my phone across the room. hahahahaha! 🤣 Oddly, I am not afraid of snakes. I had a boyfriend in high school that kept snakes. He taught me how to handle them. Once you get past the initial screaming and cowering, then past the "ick factor" they are really cool creatures. One of the men, the trip leader, knew the safe distance we needed to keep to safely watch the snakes. He also told us how to not get bitten! I wonder if he had a snake bite kit? I have no idea. It was a 1-1/2 hour drive to the nearest town. Doctor? Hospital?😳

I'm glad you had a good time . Personally , sounds like hell. No ac, no running water , no toilet and three snakes.
I'd rather go shoe shopping with the Frigidaire . Actually , no ,I wouldn't .
But "nature" is on my list of things to avoid . Along with lawyers and clowns.

It gets even better when you home so you stuff in on your back any you go far enough that you can't hear anyone or anything, like cars.

Google translate didn't either.
