You have to untwist the cage and then you can press in the side of the cork and it should pop out.

JMX, once you untwist the wire and remove the cage, keep it pointed away from you because it can fire at any time.

Holding the bottle with both hands, use both thumbs to nudge the cork up. It'll shoot across the room, so watch your aim.
