More Group Therapy & A Bit More Art.

Me and a few mates elected to enlarge our carbon footprint by going for a bit of a ride on Tuesday afternoon.
Lovely autumn day app 20, no wind, bugger all traffic so off we went to see the silo art again (see prior story about the owl etc)
Well we blew into town to revisit the owl and new landscape artwork, and then headed for the pub (pic below) wich was shut !!! (very un-Australian I thought !!!) but anyway, there's a shot of out of focus bikes for you.
Decided to move on, and about another 15k onward we come to this village where the pub was open (yaaay !!). And over the road on their silos was this (pic below)
It emerges that during the 1914/18 war this little district had the highest per capita level of volunteers in the country, and judging by the memorial there, a large number of them never made it back to the wheatlands.
So their art installation depicts a current day army medic, and a 1914/18 nurse
Quite moving in its' own way.
Somewhat upset by Les (his is the Triumph Rocket 3 aka as "The Starship Enterprise") in the photo laying a strip of rubber about 100 metres long when we departed. That Triumph sure has plenty of giddy-up.
We are planning another run shortly over to the vineyards further up the valley.
