Made an offer on a house!!!
Nerve-wracking. People call it downsizing, but the house is bigger - I'm down-neighbourhooding. :-)
I'll be able to see swans from the kitchen window, walk five minutes to gym, 7 minutes to train, two minutes to shop if everything goes through.

Good luck with the negotiations elkclan2. Such a difference by region in what is considered important for home ownership. In my area walking to anything is not even a consideration. The nearest store is 2 miles, 7 miles to the gym and there is no public transportation. But I can see the bike trail from my front porch.

But this house has the potential for off street parking. :-) Which is HUGE!! I am getting rid of my car in the next year though, but he will keep his as it's newer and he has to drive over two hours each way to collect his kids so needs reliable transport - plus I don't like being without a car - being American after all. I will probably drive his car more frequently than he does, but he will put more miles on it.
