Men that have been in combat situations say a good day is when no one is shooting at you and the room is not on fire. They say they can make a good day out of that. I would have to add not bleeding a lot and no broken bones is also a requirement of mine for a start on a good day.

Just watch some WWII combat videos of US troops invading Japanese held islands and you might realize people in western cultures have it relatively good. Hence, no one is shooting at me and the room is not on fire denotes a much calmer situation than during WWII.
