My wife got her first haircut since March lockdown. She was so pleased to get ride of ths grey and the straggles. But they gouged her, prices up to £150,a £30 increase. So, it it awful. The dye is dull, no highlights or flashes of colour. The cut is scruffy. She loves it, relief I suspect. Do I tell her or keep quiet? I know the answer is quiet but at that price and after so long I expected better for her.

Send her to Sally beauty supply. Then she can color it herself. It's easy if you read the directions... Haircolor in a salon is expensive. That's a fairly normal price for a cut and color, exchange rates notwithstanding. When I worked for money I got my color done professionally. However during my time in career hell,I realized it made no sense to pay someone to do what I can do myself while sending out resumes. Or painting the deck, etc. I've gotten quite good at coloring. However, a professional cut is still a must for me. But the color is the more expensive part usually, so she'll still save money with diy color. I can't begrudge hairstylists their money. Most don't make as much as you'd think and they've been suffering under lockdown. If I had lots of money I'd get pro color.

It's her head, and her choice mate. Let it go.

That kind of price (yeah, they don't gouge men quite that badly, I know) makes me happy that I decided 51 years ago to not get my hair cut any more. At that time, it was 15DM to get it cut, every 2 weeks. Call it 15 Dollars now ... times 26 is 390 a year times 50, let me see ... darn close to $20,000 I've saved. Woohoo.

150# to USD=$197.11 and I thought $8 to $12 was expensive. On a planet from way-back in time travel, I actually got a haircut for .25 cents in a local framers barn. He had lots of customers.
What Baza and Saarinista posted.

This post has me looking in the mirror more than once a day. And it looks like I will be needing a trim soon. In my small town, that will be $15 American.

Thanks. I obsess over my appearance in lieu of having sex! 🤦♀️ I used to obsess over sex in lieu of my appearance. Now it's the appearance that I might not be having sex very much in the future that has me obsessing.

Your hair looks good Saarinista.
I used to fix so many things and always seemed to get grease on my clothing or tears/snags, so I let my personal appearance drop.

Poor grooming tells women you don't care about what they think of you. Grooming as in clean, decent clothes, haircut, working on your health, etc. I think most women care more about that than whether someone is naturally great looking. Just put in some effort so we know you care enough not to "offend" our senses.
