Does the team think? I have English teeth, crooked and no bite to talk of. I am 65 and so have got used to them. The dentist offered Invisibrace to me. It conez in abour 1 to 5 thousand pounds! I will presume my mangled gnashers will be closer to to 5 grand. Is it worth it? Maybe 20 years ago probably. Will it improve me desirability and self worth? Am I worth it?

You are worth it. If you want to pay for it is another situation. I've been contemplating them myself. Paying off a few bills first. Mine aren't bad but l would like them straight in front

Actually that isn't a bad price. Both my sons had to have braces and I remember the costs were around $3,000 each and the was nearly 25yrs ago.

Lessingham, make yourself happy: straighten your teeth. Expect your wife to try to stop you because she will think you are squandering what she’s looking forward to inheriting.

Good luck, lessingham. Are you doing it for your wife?

No, for myself. I cannot enjoy pasta, fruit, steak or anything requiring biting. She cares not about my teeth and I doubt if a straight set would improve my sex life one iota

Lessingham, why would you continue to not enjoy certain foods when there’s a fix? You frequently act like a martyr when you are in control of your life.

I would be looking to have my ivory fixed if it was me. My impression is that your W doesn't hesitate very long if she wants something. And payments can most likely be spread out over a # of years so the impact would not be that severe. Maybe there is an interim fix that could be done and then a more permanent approach taken if you liked the initial result.

Lessingham has not put forth finances as a reason to not put pursue fixing teeth that impair his enjoyment of good. What’s holding him back appears to be a concern that he’s not worth it.

I am not an orthodontist and I don't play one on TV.... But there is a product/procedure called aligners. They are clear plastic inserts the cover your teeth when you sleep or between meals to slowly correct misaligned teeth. From my reading it seems they are considerably less expensive than braces, but the procedure using them must be done by an orthodontist.

It is more the curse of the over 60s,the idea it is too late and after putting up with it all these years, is change worth it. Takes a big mind kick to get out of that groove.

I’m 69. I figure I probably have 10-20 years left and should spend my money now on the things I like and want. I can’t take it with me.

What would Winston Churchill do if his teeth displeased him?
Also get estimates from several dentists. Dental work prices can vary. Ask other people what they paid and if they heard of any good deals.
