Performing for the first time tonight in an on-line improvised play. I am the least experienced person in the group, so please wish me good luck! Earlier today, I took a wonderful writing, movement workshop from a stellar dancer/writer whom I had taught 25 years ago when she was in college. What goes around comes around.

Good Luck with that, northstarmom . Funnily enough I tried to contact a theater improv company last week and they put me off because they were in rehearsals for some event. Chatter Fox - it's not Friday, it's Saturday! (LOL, dateline) I just got home from shopping, eating lunch, looking forward to the board games group tonight. Also: elections. I guess we'll hear more throughout the night, although the outcome is moderately certain - Gods, I hope "Crusher Collins" gets crushed tonight- she's an abominable human being and we don't need a female New Zealand version of Trump in charge. In charge of *anything*. It's a very very sad picture to see that the National Party thinks she's the best they could come up with: what does that say about the rest of them !?!

Cleaning up after the evening meal and drinking instant coffee with a homemade molasses, oatmeal, raisin and nut bar I made.
Covid cases are really increasing here but I ran out of stamps to pay a bill so I went to the post office to buy stamps today.
Because I had a surgery in the beginning of Sept 2019 and was told then to mostly self-isolate when possible, I have been doing that for 13.5 months. I am hoping by Feb 2021 there is a decent vaccine available.

What board games will you be playing? Is Jacinda Arden still going to be up for prime minister? I dont know a ton about her but from the little bit I know, i definitely like her. She seems really down to earth.

I love my solitude but even I was getting the need to get out of the house when I was working from home for just a few months.

What are you doing @chatterfox? I worked this afternoon, then home to take one kiddo to dance and after that other kiddo (teen) had first sports game of season. Now trying to keep eyes open and wishing I had a good red to enjoy — just one glass. Instead, I may resort to my special sleepy tea. Handy - your bar sounds delish! Recipe? northstarmom and petrushka - I love that you two are outgoing and able to put yourself in front of people, performance-wise. Sounds like fun (and sort of nightmareish too).

I am loosey-goosey when it comes to cooking. I add or subtract things depending on what I have on hand or what I want to use up. I don't like my bars sweet. Oatmeal Bars 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats (sometimes I add 1/2 cup of flour baking required). 1 Cup Crushed Nuts I like walnuts and sliced almonds but have even added pumpkin seed meats a few times. 2 eggs (baking required) The official plan calls for brown sugar and white sugar (baking required)
1/2 cup peanut butter 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg 1/2 cup milk if too dry 1/2 cup Raisins or similar fruit. I added cranberries so that made a cup of fruit I add ground up flax seed, maybe a tablespoon or more. Taste the cookie dough and put in what sounds good before baking. Warm peanut butter and honey, then combine ingredients. add milk if the mixture is too dry. Place in pan and pack down. Refrigerate and serve.
I always bake mine into cookie shapes, 15 +-minuets @350. They are sticky and fall apart but that is OK with me. If a cookie falls apart, put what is remaining over your ice cream or yogurt.
My colon surgery had my gut messed up. The fiber in the oatmeal reduces the diarrhea and the constipation from the not-so sterile emergency colon surgery over a year ago. I was on antibiotics for a long time, hence the self imposed limited contact or rather me just trying to avoid getting something from someone.
EDIT to add

Argh! I am in sick bay with a temp, cough and feel totally rubbish. My daughter’s school is rife with Covid so I was tested yesterday. Despite Tier 3 lockdown I had a great weekend planned. Never mind, not the end of the world. Handy I’ll have one of those bars to cheer me up please. 😊

Petrushka, there are wonderful on-line improv classes now with troupes and teachers -- including some of the best -- from all over the world. These include many classes for beginners. I take 18 classes a week, which is what has helped me thrive during quarantine. Google or search on eventbrite or the FB improv groups and you'll find classes.

Snow? Damn. It was still 102°F here yesterday - a short spike in the cooling off season. The evenings are getting pretty pleasant. (Winter here only lasts about 2 weeks, but in exchange for summer being 6 months long.)

Whatcha doing? Whatcha thinking? Whatcha drinking? Well, it’s Saturday morning now. My Friday evening was spent very quietly- mostly in front of the TV. I did have a glass of wine. I’m very grateful for staying employed during these difficult times but my job is killing me right now. I needed the evening to decompress. I’m leaving my weekend options open. Sometime today I must call my stbx to ask him about the divorce papers he was supposed to send me a month ago. That should he fun. Wish me luck!
