I know in our marriages, and places we are in in our lives, we may not be able to congratulate ourselves or celebrate things we are proud of.
If you have something you are proud of and want to share that pride, I wanna hear it!

I'm proud I had the courage to get a divorce. I'm proud of my two children. I'm proud that I'm a great mom.

I'm proud that I walked away from my crazy-making job last year (after the divorce, after getting sober) & started college. I will get an Associates this May & I've been accepted for a Bachelors degree program for the fall. Really proud that my first semester last fall, I got 4.0 GPA & I'm now a member of an honors society (go figure - all those years my Ex had me convinced that trying for a degree would be too hard). I really love going to college & I get great joy out of my post-divorce resources paying the costs, too. I'm proud to be a smart AND sexy woman-- I really did grow up thinking they may be mutually exclusive.

It all started when I decided to build a retaining wall for our front slope. It turned out so well that I decided we needed a walkway from the sidewalk to the front stoop. The new walkway set off the perfect area for a little desert garden. I put in unique desert plants and rocks. It's pretty. Water rationing because of the drought had killed all the grass, so I converted to a xerascape. Essentially it's dirt and desert plants. Welcome El Niño! Rain and rain and more rain. We discovered the irrigation drains were clogged with tree roots. My front yard was washing away. The specialist told me it would be between $5000-$10,000 to redo the drainage. I looked at him and said "You can forget that, I'll do it myself". He gave me his card and advised I get it taken care of soon. I got on it. Between rains, I dug out two drains. I discovered that the joints had not been glued or taped. The tree roots slipped in through the tiny cracks and grew. I pulled over 150 feet of root from the pipes. Pulling them out was really cool and very gross. I replaced 20 feet of pipe, glued the joints and taped them. Let's see those roots get past that! Drought resistant plants do not need a sprinkler system, so I converted to a drip system. Through trial and error I think I have it figured out. The front yard is done. Now for the back. I'd like to say special thanks to YouTube and the internet as well as the man at the irrigation store for his help. Thank you to the very handsome Dr. T and my functional trainer for keeping me strong enough to do this. Thanks for my son and husband for bringing me food and making me to stop and come in because it was getting dark.

Thank you to the very handsome Dr. T and my functional trainer for keeping me strong enough to do this. Thanks for my son and husband for bringing me food and making me to stop and come in because it was getting dark. Way to go!!! Youtube is definitely a friend for learning how to do things. We learned from a kid who posted a video (couldn't have been older than 12) how to connect our antenna directly to our TV and not use the scrambler, thus allowing us to get all the network channels for free (we don't have cable or internet). That kind of manual labor is great for the soul!!! When I was still with my ex I ripped out two huge bushes by the door and built a platform deck to include planning it, picking out and hauling the lumber, mixing cement for platforms, using the circular saw, etc... all while he played video games with NO spark or thought that maybe he should help his wife. lol I sure felt proud after that, though, so I hear ya -- you are awesome! That was the summer after my dad died and I think his spirit was cheering me on. It was like a whirlwind as I look back on those times now. Right now I am proud that I walked through tough times to get to where I am now. Now I have a husband who is engaged in our life fully (body and mind) and we are remodeling the basement together - a true labor of love. He amazes me with his abilities, (in and out of the bedroom) but then I always remember where I came from and will never take it or him for granted.

I am so proud of my daughters...
The oldest at 26, has two degrees, and works as a nurse. She is married & lives in Germany with her husband, who is in school. So now in addition to speaking English and Spanish, she is now learning German.
My youngest, at 20, is in her second year of college majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She has made only one B in college so far. She is sweet and kind to everyone.
Both of them are beautiful, intelligent, and wonderful women. I am so grateful that I am able to be part of their lives.

WindSister, thank you! One morning I was planting bougainvillea along the top of the front slope. My husband walked down to the sidewalk and looked up at me. He smiled and asked if a lot of men had been stopping to talk to me. I realized that was true. It had been a very social morning. He told me to look down. I did and realized that as I was leaning over my top gaped and they had a full view of my breasts!

Awesome flashjohn! I too am proud of my children. Our daughter graduated from Fordham Law and is employed with a fortune 100 company. The amazing child is our youngest son. He was born bipolar. His childhood was traumatic. He required all the support we could give him as he struggled through social situations. He knew he was different and wished he was like every one else. This is a child that was teaching himself to read at age 4 and was reading at 6th grade level in first grade. Due to his social immaturity, he couldn't advance a grade. I stayed home and became his advocate in school. My husband would sit with him every night and help him talk through his day and advise him on tricks to handle his emotions. When he was in high school we had him assessed by a psychologist. The very one that analyzes contestants for the show "Survivor". We were able to get in on a referral. He is an amazing man. He told us that our son was the most mentally and emotionally healthy teenager he had ever assessed. Getting through college is a slow process, but he arranged his 504 education plan and made the deans list. He handles his illness himself, arranging doctor and therapist appointments and managing his medications. He has an active social life now. We believe there is a promising future for him.

As for me, I am really proud of my progress back in college. Since I have been back the lowest grade I have gotten was a 97%, I feel really proud of myself for working so hard but I know my family would rather I just STFU.
I'm also very proud of my daughter, at 3 she can do basic math and is starting to read small words. She is excelling in a class of 4/5 year olds. I know every parent should be proud of their children, but I'm just really happy with how gifted she is. I hope I can always keep her challenged.

I am proud that I can do house construction work, mechanic work and manage people with a small dabbling in coding/it.
There is something to fixing an engine on my own time/ schedule that is therapeutic and a reflection of what is happening to me mentally. Fixing what parts I can, replacing others and finally getting moving again.
