OK, I am one year past colon surgery. Doing OK but some things are different. I decided to read about gut bacteria. Fermentation in the colon The colon contains a complex ecosystem consisting of over 400 known species of bacteria that exist in a sym-biotic relationship with the host. www.brainkart.com/article/Fermentation-in-the-colon_17430/It is a bit too technical for me but I understand some of the general concepts. It is also interesting and hearing some noises from down there. Something has a miniature bowling alley in my gut(intestine) and they must be getting strikes, according to the sounds I hear. No, I am not hungry so the tummy rumbling sounds is not because of a lack of food. Someone has a bowling tournament going on.

More on the gut: More of your immune system is in the gut than any other part of the body because it has over a tennis court of sq ft-Sq meters of area.
Think shag carpeted texture inside the guts linings. The surfaces add up to a very large area. I haven't figured out how this works in relationship to avoiding Covid, which is a lung thing and lungs also have a large area.

Well, I've been conscious of the Peter Principle since my school days (no, nothing to do with me, it was a Dr. Peter who first wrote it up.)
Here's another take, from an organizational psychologist:
Spot on!!! (yes, three exclamation marks.)

Petrushka, I take it you wouldn't be voting for Trump based on this video.

LOL -- I think Mr. "Make America the laughing stock of the world" needs to be rehomed from the White House to the Madhouse. But hey, he's yours, you can keep him over there, please.
Actually, listening to that video, and the joke about Argentinian men, I thought: If I could buy Trump for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth, I'd be a multi-billionaire.

Hi Handy
Isn't the gut considered the second brain? I have been working on healing my own gut for the last few years and a friend recommended diatomaceous earth. He says it scrubs the digestive system of crud to allow better absoprtion of nutrients. Have you come across it in your research?

The short answer is, no I never looked into diatomaceous earth (DE). I know DE us used for swimming pool filter media, toothpaste abrasive, some people use DE/toothpaste to polish clear plastic and my neighbor uses it to kill fleas or some similar bugs that infest his pet chickens.
From Wiki: Diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled protist. It is used as a filtration aid, mild abrasive in products including metal polishes and toothpaste, mechanical insecticide, absorbent for liquids, matting agent for coatings, reinforcing filler in plastics and rubber, anti-block in plastic films, porous support for chemical catalysts, cat litter, activator in blood clotting studies, a stabilizing component of dynamite, a thermal insulator, and a soil for potted plants and trees like bonsai.
Jerri has done the research concerning gut bacteria.
Me, I am still at the "add fiber" stage.

A little reading to go with your morning coffee-tea or what ever you like to drink. Maybe a Paul Dirac video is easier to understand. Paul Dirac, quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. Among other discoveries, he formulated the Dirac equation which describes the behaviour of fermions and predicted the existence of antimatter. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Dirac

Albert Einstein wrote of Dirac, "I have trouble with Dirac. This balancing on the dizzying path between genius and madness is awful." In another letter he wrote, "I don't understand Dirac at all (Compton effect)." This is hilarious.

I had used diatomaceous earth for yrs. as an insect prevention in the garden. Under a microscope it looks like shards of glass. I have read that farmers add it to their livestock feed to prevent intestinal parasites but I don't see how that works since moisture in the digestive system would soften the earth and render it ineffective. Best to do some research to see the relationship for your specific condition.

Best to do some research to see the relationship for your specific condition. There are lots of people who swear by the food grade kind. The man who first mentioned it to me has been taking it for ten years and is in great health (he's 62) so it doesn't seem to do any harm long term at least. I did find this with a quick Google search: www.healthline.com/nutrition/what-is-diatomaceous-earth

lwoetin, some of these theorists amaze me with what they come up with, from the "big Bang" and all of the related theories. I am not trying to be a nerd, I am just trying to understand how some of this stuff works. Learning things is better than wishing romance and sex would happen.
Related to more practical things, like lights that do not work on a 2003 Dodge truck,

The dodgy Dodge? Maybe they named it that way for a reason? Take heed, take heed! {grins}
