All day I couldn't believe my eyes! Not even sure why they had such violence and sparse security. One thing after another and such what did they think was going to happen? Watched different cameras of the lady being shot right as she crawled into the window of the door. Shocked that 4 are dead 52 arrested. Wonder what kind of message that sends. Best overlooked video. Sad day. How did it affect you and do you have any news to add?   |

I not shocked at all. Saddened but not shocked. That's because I've been watching Trump and his most extreme supporters carefully for 4 years. They've always wanted violence. No, not all of his supporters but the extreme fringe/ q anon? That's what they WANT.
This is what happens when good people are deluded or don't watch and vote.
Many good people voted for Trump because they thought he was something different. They thought he could drain the swamp. But they were wrong and he is a probably delusional/psychotic person.

I am not surprised. I am not very happy about having been right, but I've been predicting something like this since Trump's election campaign sounded eerily like what Goebbels and Hitler dreamed up in 1933. You would not know about it, but I had to learn it in school, because our teachers didn't want something like that to happen again in Germany. I'm not saying Trump is like Hitler, they are completely different types of psychopaths, but the stadiums full of screaming followers?!? Eerily alike. Charlottesville, Oakland showed Trump supporting fascist militias, and them supporting him. Eerily alike. About the only thing T. hasn't done yet is to start a war to secure his position in power, as many tyrants and dictators have done. (actually, I think he's too erratic, short on cold blooded planning).
This crap is not something I am happy about having predicted and seen to come true. It's what happens when people get whipped into a frenzy because they believe in memes instead of trying to look at reality with sober eyes.  But it's nothing new. I remember video from the early Obama years, where some senator was trying to explain to people that they were going to be given free health care (what's not to like?) and they were screaming and screeching at the man in anger and hatred. Nobody listening. The BBC headlined "Turkeys, voting for Christmas". You got some serious shit going on over there ...

Exactly what I expected. I moved from the US to Mexico after 45 was elected because I knew that the country would become very dangerous after a narcissist endorsed by the KKK and Nazis came to power and all branches of government were held by his party. Friends asked my partner and me to wait til the results of last year's election, but I correctly told them that if 45 lost, he'd declare he'd won by a landslide and would incite his minions to violence to keep him in. I'm expecting more violence at the inauguration and afterward. Having the country descend into civil war would not surprise me.

I must admit that back when this bloke got the endorsement off his party to run, I didn't think the citizens would be crazy enough to elect him.
But, if the people did do so, and put him in charge then the checks and balances in the system and the constitution would be given a searching examination under his stewardship.
However, the people did elect him, fair and square (much to my surprise)
And, so far, the system and checks/balances, and the constitution have worked .... in as much as the people have not found him to be a fit and proper person to hold the highest office any longer and have voted him out, fair and square.
Up to now, the system of checks and balances has worked.
There will be more fun and games as this plays out no doubt, and the checks/balances and the constitution have survived .... as they have for 200+ years.
My suggestion - have a bit of faith in your system, the checks and balances there-in, and your constitution.
This 45th bloke to hold the office will soon be a footnote in history.
As unwieldy as your system is, it works.
Nixon gave it a searching workout, and it came through.
The 45th incumbent has given it a further pounding, and put your country backwards by years if not decades, and it's come through - a bit banged up.
Do your job.

The Leftists have been engaging in violence for the last 4 years and it was celebrated by the anti-Trump crowd. Burning business, burning cities to the ground...all justified. One "riot" on the right and the sky is falling. They are upset democracy is dead in this country. The left mobs were upset because they needed new shoes and dvd players from Target in the name of racial justice. Chaos? Nah, you haven't seen chaos, my friends. But you will when the next four years get under way.
