Post sm partner and I had a Xmas eve potluck party last night with a small group of dear friends. We told stories, ate yummy food and sang twisted x-mas (for x rated) carols. It was a lovely evening that was the kind of thing I’d missed in my 34 year marriage to a man who has no close friends, was uncomfortable when people talked personally and would have been uncomfortable with any conversation hinting at sex.
At midnight, partner and I opened our gifts. Among what he gave me were massage oil and nipple nibbles tingle balm.
Today we are going to heathen brunch, a custom started by a jewis friend who said Jews eat at Asian restaurants on Christmas. About 30 people will come: atheists, agnostics, Jews, Christians whose families are far away. Some of us will see the new movie The Darkest Hour.
We had sex yesterday while prepping for the party. Will try out Xmas gifts later today.
I have the kind of love I always wanted. If I die today, I will have no regrets.

I’m going to my aa Hall for a potluck later. Probably no sex today, but I’m ok with where I am in my life. Being out of my toxic SM was a huge improvement even at the times it may not feel like it. No stepkids or grandkids have plans that include me but I now have a large support network & the day looks sunny despite the cold. I received 4 gifts this year, all from program friends. About 3 cards - 1 from program, 1 cousin, 1 nice lady I used to work with. All is well on the midwestern front 😁 Happy cold day to all - may you find warmth in your heart.

... we are hoping the snowfall stops so we can travel to see my sister and her family Snow! It always sounds more romantic when you don't have to live in it, I'm sure. But Christmas isn't quite the same when it's 80°F outside. As our kids have gotten older, Christmas morning starts a bit later than the crack of dawn like it once did. Now they value sleep more, so we're just getting started. ;-)

We are stuck here, no travel happening today!

Every one is now on a screen in separate rooms of the house, as predicted. You could see the tension in the room, and the W's controlling attitude. Two of my teens have left the house for the day already. One said to me, " I'll give you your gift latter on". I look forward to doing things differently next year. Skiing and travel possibly? ...I hear that - W has spent most of the day so far playing solitaire so I shoveled the snow and now on the laptop. Wonder what I may have done this time to offend??? Anyway, still sore from my first visit to the gym 2 days ago but will be ready to go tomorrow. Merry Christmas!

I spent the day rushing from one relative's house to the next to make sure we see everyone like we do every year. I hate Christmas Day. Today I at least got to sleep in and catch up on rest. Wake up early to pack the car. Head out for breakfast with my mom, rush home and load up gifts for the next stops, make food for the next dinners, go to dinner at my grandparents' place, barely get done eating and duck out to make it down to W's parents' place for another dinner. Get home late and go to sleep.

I got massage oil too! I predict mine will remain unopened until next year though. Au contraire... Strike while the iron's hot. She gave you the gift; attempt to put it to use. Lay out a towel or two on her side of the bed and set the massage oil on it or nearby. Extend an invitation, and don't forget to turn up the thermostat / bed warmer. Maybe an extra towel to cover the area you aren't working so she doesn't get chilled. And run hot water over the oil bottle to pre-warm it. It may crash and burn, but it'd be a valiant attempt if it does. (Then again, I could be reading this all wrong and that's why I'm in the situation I am. Caveat emptor!) ETA: I should add... in full disclosure, this exact scene went down in flames for me recently; however, W hadn't just gifted me the oil. I think your odds are better sooner than later.

Worst case, you have a nice bottle of earn massage oil to use.

We watched Trading Places and Catch Me If You Can. Two movies set around Christmastime but aren't really Christmas movies. Truth is, I hate the holidays, and not because I'm agnostic. I have almost no family left, just a narcissistic cunt of an aunt (see iliasm.org/thread/3270/gift-grammar-queen?page=16)We don't have any family nearby, and we were unable to travel at Christmas. Yes, I'm glad they're over. I can't wait to see how people do on their New Year's resolutions.
